The Barkas B1000, which was announced as a "fast transporter", was produced in the years 1961-1990 in the VEB Barkas factory in KarlMarx-Stadt, today's Chemnitz. As a service bus, it now appears in 1:43 scale as a vehicle of the "Simson-Schwalbe customer service" with a Schwalbe KR51 and as a flatbed truck in Simson design and an S51 as a snappy load.
