·         This is a GENUINE iXO MODEL brand model. Â·         NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the simplified, mass-produced version released for the partwork series.

Â·         In the 00’s iXO had achieved extraordinary results on the price-to-quality ration, namely on their MUSEUM Series, implementing exceptional paint quality, usage of photo-etched parts, and imitation of the car’s bright-work with the a realistic bright chrome appearance, rather a dull silver paint which was a standard on models with a price tag 1.5-2 time higher

 *      FROM MY POINT OF VIEW as a collector, this is a high-quality, well-executed, Amazing, model of a renowned, car from an iconic French marque, brought by iXO Models. Certainly, it would be a great addition to any model car collection and a must for Classic car fans, namely for Delage and castom coachwork aficionados. Last but not least, it is an eye-catcher indeed.
·         I love models from the MUSEUM Series and recommend the to fellow collectors, without hesitation.

  • ABOUT THE CAR: After the takeover, Delahaye realized the potential of sports car racing and Delage’s skill to engineer winning cars. It was decided to build one chassis for Louis Delage. He heavily modified Delahaye chassis 50688,up to the point to call it his own.  It was powered by a modified cylinder head short-stroke version of the Arthur-Léon Michelet's 3.6 engine; bodied by Figoni et Falaschi, who was known for his lightweight, seemingly aerodynamic bodies and the one he made for 50688 was his most impressive to date. It was compact, purposeful, and one of the first teardrops in the world.
  • The 1936 Le Mans Endurance race had canceled, and the car became a showpiece for Delage.  It impressed crowds on the European Concours d’Elegance circuit, and won at its first show in Deauville with Mme Richer-Delavau.  However, it also was used at local hill climbs and sprint races
  •  In 1937 it was sold to Louis Gerard, who, with his cousin Jacques de Valence competed at Le Mans finished 4th overall, and winning their class at an average speed of 121.1 km/hour.
  • After LeMans Delage prepared an open two-seat body for the chassis. In this configuration, Gerard successfully competed in the 1938 sports season and won the RAC’s Tourist Trophy.
  • The contemporary history of 50688 is unknown. However, a car, which appears to be identical to 50688 (in its original configuration), has been shown many times at events like Retromobile, and it raced at the 2006 Le Mans Classic.

I may consider reasonable offers, especially with multiple-item purchases; do not hesitate to contact me.
