The BMW E24 is the first 6 Series in history. Introduced to the German manufacturer's catalogue in 1976, it quickly established itself as a standard. This luxurious coupÃ© replaced the BMW E9. While its design remained in the pure tradition of the period (simple and elegant), its conception was an industrial challenge. It was based on an E12 5 Series and got its engines from its catalogue sisters. This coupÃ© was a real commercial success for BMW! The sports versions added to the popularity of this 6 Series. The M6 version was the most powerful, with 286bhp and an official top speed of 255km/h - impressive for its time!
