Dinky Toys No. 138 Hillman IMP Saloon Code 3. The model is in wonderful fully restored to original specifications' condition. Perfect British racing green body with a red interior.
Replaced were the four (4) tires and the windows. The spun aluminum hubs, axles, baseplate, bonnet (hood) & engine cover are original to the model. Both the bonnet (hood) and the rear engine cover open properly. Within the front luggage compartment is the small suitcase and under the engine cover is the detailed engine. In all the model displays wonderfully and many would believe it to be a mint original example.
The box is an older very accurate reproduction used for storage. It displays very well with the model.
In summary, a splendid addition to your Dinky Toys, Hillman or British cars of the 1960's vehicle collection. This model will not disappoint the serious collector!
A note about Code 3 models. There seems to be some confusion about what constitutes a Code 3 versus a re-issue. Code 3 models are original models, many produced well over a half-century ago that have been meticulously restored to their original standards. They are not copies of these same models mass produced in Asian factories today.
