Up for purchase is this vintage original 1968 Corgi 336 James Bond Toyota 2000 GT set from the movie You Only Live Twice.
The car has the following features....Opening and closing rear trunk operated by switch on side of car.
.... 4 yellow missiles that fire out of the trunk by pressing down on rear of car.
....Removable driver and James bond figures.
All of the features on the car work well BUT the trunk is very touchy to close and takes several tries. I sometimes have to pull the side switch to the rear so the trunk will close. I have tested each missile port with a missile and all four ports fire well.
The paint is in great shape on this one with no major issues.
The antenna is original and shows no damage to it.
Suspension has excellent spring on all four corners with no sagging issues..
Windshield is free from any cracks or breaks.
Rear trunk lid as I mentioned is very touchy requiring several tries to close it. Some times pulling the side lever towards the rear helps. Even when shut the slightest touch of the switch opens the trunk.
All four sparkling rear jewel tail lights are present.
Both front sparkling jewel headlights are present.
Front and rear license plate stickers are in excellent condition.
Tires are in good order and the car rolls along freely.
The outer box has all end flaps present and fully attached. Nice stiff end flaps.
Nice bright color graphics with no graffiti.
Very firm and rigid box.
Inner plinth has all end flaps present and fully attached including both end pull tabs.
No tears to the fragile end wing flaps.
Minor bending to the tuck in portion of the flaps.
Nice bright colors with no graffiti.
Almost no wear to tire slots.
Slight yellowing to underside of plinth.
Comes with a total of 4 loose yellow missiles.
Envelope has been carefully opened at one end and has no tears and no holes in it.
Instructions sheet has no tears and no graffiti with just some age yellowing.
Original badge has never been used and is close to mint condition.
This set comes with the often missing white inner cardboard packing piece.
A very nice set that I would ask more for if not for the touchy trunk on the car. However a great starter set that can be updated with a better car at a later time. Great box, plinth, badge and paperwork.
Car measures approx 4 1/2 inches long and is approx 1:43 scale.
