The VW Breakdown Truck, which is available individually (as Corgi 490) or as part of the gift sets GS36, GS37 and GS12, uses the tools of the former VW pick-up (Corgi 431), but without its tailgate. During the towing car, the tailgate was replaced by a wind with hook, which was operated by turning a rubber tire that was part of a clever mechanism. The VW Breakdown Truck was available in the colors mustard yellow, light brown and white, with all variants wearing a red-painted VW logo. The gift sets were also a suitable car trailer that was not available separately.
